Who we are
We are people who believe in their ability to improve other's lives.
We believe that if engineers, operators, and technologists have better tools, if they are released from monkey duties, and are not burdened by a daily routine, their innovative minds and talented hands will be given the opportunity to take on new exciting problems.
We are passionate about computational geometry, applied mathematics, and engineering software in general.
We are among those few who love traditional computer-aided design and manufacturing and believe there is still more room for innovation and automation. A lot can be done with conventional CAD/CAM/CAE without inventing "cloud-based" storages, new "better" formats, or AI here and there. Geometry is deep, hard and yet far from being solved.
“No” to corporate buzzwords and excessive advertising
"Yes" to open science and open source. We do R&D and publish our results openly. We contribute to open source through our engineering SDK. We offer free tutorials for the employed open-sourced technologies and strive to create an unbiased community of CAD software developers.

We are not under the wing of a big brother, and we do not have unlimited resources or an army of salespeople and lawyers. We operate in survival mode and eager to work and challenging tasks. We do not use external funding and develop competing solutions in the wild.
A bit of history
We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be there and do what we’ve been doing — everything we’ve learned in these walls, all of the colleagues with whom we’ve been fortunate to collaborate, but, as it typically happens, one story ends and another begins. And in 2021, we turned the page and began a new chapter called "Quaoar Studio LLC".
2021
We stayed within the Open Cascade’s boundaries for nearly 13 years. We worked on around 50 projects in the automotive, machining, metalworking, ship building and certification industries, involving CAD, CAM, and CAE domains, from various western and eastern countries. We had the opportunity to work on highly specialized algorithms in computational geometry and applied mathematics, as well as geometric design and develop fully functional systems from the ground up. We were part of teams and also led them. We began as interns and ended as top-level technical managers. We turned back to the University to start a new lab and computational geometry workshop for students.
13 years
Our company’s story begins in 2008, one year before we graduated from Lobachevsky University in Nizhny Novgorod with degrees in Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics. We were sitting in one of our classes when representatives from the Open Cascade company came in. They were looking for young, bright minds for their summer internship. We joined the program almost immediately since we were impressed by the projects that they were working on and the fact that the backbone technology was open-source. It was like a parallel world for us because all of the job openings we’d seen up to that point were about the same boring subjects and didn’t really inspire us, the grads from a high ranking university with strong mathematical traditions.
We enrolled in the program, completed it successfully, and received the offer. Looking back, we can be sure that this was the moment of no return. This decision affected not only our professional careers but also personal live.
